Sonoid is a series of research experiments which link sound to visual, haptic and tanglible representations. The research questions which guides this project are:
How does sound look like - what is the geometry of sound?
Are there unexplored benefits from revisiting the physical shapes of sound?
What new possible design spaces open up when understanding sound as an architectural material?
Practical applications of this include: (1) educational curricula which integrate improvisation techniques of sound production with teaching 3D modeling and digital fabrication, (2) as help in voice training, speech impediments and music education, (3) in designing multi-sensory experiences which merge sound, visual and haptic representations, and possibly even (4) designing objects with special acoustic properties
